can I use Oracle Locator Express for non admin previlage
Hello,
Oracle Locator Express make some changes to the registry in order to set the current Oracle Home.
Because Oracle installs there by default under the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE hive, you will need to have administrator privileges to update the values.
Does Oracle Locator Express work in Vista64 edition?
When I try, it runs & shows in the taskbar notificaion area but is unresponsive to mouse overs/clicks.
Oracle Locator Should work on all versions of Windows, 64-bit included.
We'll check if we can reproduce this on a test system.
Any update on this?
We have checked and it should work.
We are creating version 2.0.0, but it will only come out beginning of 2010.
The new version is using a differrent technology behind the screens, we hope it will solve your problems as well.
Thanks for the reply - I've reinstalled multiple times but no go. The issue is, I am supporting some old legacy systems while working on newer systems & have to support Oracle 8.06, 8.1, 9.2, 10 & 11 databases.

It will normally be released the second week of 2010.
Every time I reboot my system the Oracle Locator Express disappears. I cannot find it on my system or any way to re-launch it. How can I restart the utility without having to repeatedly download it from you site?
It depends where you've put it when you downloaded it.
If you know the location, you can create a shortcut in the Startup Program group.
For the next version, we'll make an installer which will include an option to create this shortcut for you.
When I right click on the system tray icon, it is showing me all of my installed clients but it is incorrectly reporting that one of them is 11.1 when it is 11.2.
We will investigate the issue and release a patch if required.
Can you please tell us if it's an instant client or the full (non instant) client?
